On 16 September, our Founder, Mr Takanobu Tanaka, exchanged views on education with Ms Anita Makkar, Principal & Education Leader of THE HDFC SCHOOL.
THE HDFC SCHOOL is one of the renowned schools in India with branches in Gurugram, Pune and Bengaluru, focusing on Holistic Education. In addition to projector-equipped classrooms, the school has a library, gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, art room, squash court and grass field.
Our Shin Program (Japanese style Experiential Holistic Learning) has also been introduced, and the highly enthusiastic and competent teachers provide excellent teaching to maximise the children’s academic and personal development.
Ms Anita Makkar is the Education Leader of THE HDFC SCHOOL Group and the Principal of Gurugram Branch. She is a respected education leader to educators, teachers and parents in India and has been recognised for her achievements and activities in many fields.
One of the awards she has received are the National Award by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, presented by His Excellency the Vice President of India, Shri Hamid Ansari and the CBSE Award presented by the then Hon’ble Minister of HRD, Shri Arjun Singh. She has also visited Japan twice and is knowledgeable about Japan and Japanese education.
In the exchange of views, the following topics were discussed.
・To promote virtual exchange of students and teachers between India and Japan, as well as exchange of students and teachers.
・To promote inquiry-based learning through interaction among students from India and Japan.
・To jointly organise workshops and events that enable students to experience Experiential Holistic Learning in the 21st century.
We look forward to working together to create leading educational programmes.
